Twenty-one-year-old Caden is fighting for his life in the Grande Prairie ICU after being T-boned by a tank truck on his way to work — a job he loved and took great pride in. What began as a normal morning on October 30, 2025 has turned into every parent’s worst nightmare.

Caden suffered major injuries, including a broken arm, leg, and ribs, a collapsed lung, extensive facial lacerations, and multiple skull and sinus fractures. He remains in the ICU under sedation and on a ventilator, with doctors working around the clock to stabilize him. In the near future he will be transferred to the Edmonton ICU for more specialized care and surgeries.

His mom, an ER nurse, was starting her shift when she learned that the trauma patient being rushed in was her own son — a moment no parent should ever have to endure.

Despite everything, there are signs of hope. There have been moments where he’s opened his eyes or squeezed a hand. Still, his journey ahead is long and uncertain, with multiple surgeries, rehabilitation, and many months of recovery expected.
