Joyce's terrible accident occurred on October 27th at her church's community event, where a gas stove pipe leaked, causing a devastating explosion. The impact left her with severe burns across her back, arms, and legs. After being swiftly transported to Sunnybrooke's ICU burn unit, Joyce underwent multiple surgeries and received crucial skin grafts during her three-week stay.
Now on the path to recovery at St. John Rehabilitation Hospital, Joyce faces an uncertain timeline for her departure. This unforeseen accident has cast a substantial burden on her family, as she is away from her 5 children: Aoife, Siobhan, Micheal, Rosie, and John. John has autism and developmental disabilities, which require constant support.
We are reaching out for support to assist with medical expenses, financial support for the family, covering groceries and other living costs, and providing additional support workers and programs for John to help bridge the gap in Joyce's absence. Your generosity, regardless of the amount, is truly appreciated.
Embracing the spirit of 2 Corinthians 9:6-8, "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion."
Thank you for your generosity and please keep Joyce and her family in your prayers.
