Hi, my name is Ashley, and this year I’m stepping into one of the biggest dreams of my life by competing in Miss Universe Canada!
I come from a low-income family, and growing up, opportunities like this always felt out of reach. Pageants, national stages, and big dreams were things I admired from afar, never something I truly believed I would be part of. When I won Miss Windsor, it honestly shocked me. I never thought I’d make it that far, let alone be given the chance to compete at the next level. That moment showed me that sometimes we underestimate what’s possible for ourselves.
I’m currently in the middle of a major life transition, moving from Windsor to Calgary to chase bigger opportunities, grow personally, and build the future I’ve always envisioned. This pageant represents so much more than a crown to me. It represents courage, resilience, and proof that where you start does not define where you can go.
Like many young women, I balance work, bills, and everyday responsibilities while trying to create space for my dreams. Competing at a national level comes with significant costs, including registration fees, training, travel, wardrobe, and professional preparation. Every contribution directly helps make this opportunity possible.
I want to use this platform to show other women, especially those who come from humble beginnings, that confidence is built, not given, and that big dreams are valid no matter your background. If my journey shows even one person that they are capable of more than they ever imagined, then it’s already worth it.
Thank you for believing in me, supporting my journey, and helping turn a dream into reality. Even sharing this fundraiser means more than you know.
