ROAD TO FARGO - Layla Morris
Donation protected
My name is Layla Morris and a few weeks ago I competed in the Freestyle & Greco State Championships in Newberg, Oregon. I’m pleased to be able to say that I won my bracket in the 120 pound junior girls division for freestyle and greco!
In addition to these titles I also competed in the 6A/5A Girls OSAA State Tournament at the Memorial Coliseum and won the 115 pound title back in February. The combination of these 3 titles earned me my very first triple crown award.
Every year, the US Marine Corps Junior & 16U Nationals are held in Fargo, North Dakota during the month of July. My wins at freestyle state qualified me for this tournament, as well as the Turf Wars dual tournament in Pocatello, Idaho.
The cost of the two trips including registration, gear, camp, transportation, etc. is about $2,000. With this level of expense, I am in need of and seeking financial support.
I believe it will be extremely helpful in developing my skills as a wrestler and it will bring me new opportunities, helping me reach my current and future wrestling goals.
I put in 18+ hours a week in the wrestling room, the gym, and at wrestling tournaments while also maintaining good grades and working to save money for these types of trips. With this, I hope you consider contributing to this fundraiser in view of the fact that I work unflaggingly and always push myself in everything that I do.
I truly appreciate any proceeds that I receive. Any proceeds that surpass my current fundraising goal will go towards my savings for any beneficial camps, practices and tournaments for the future.
I look forward to competing this summer at the US Marine Corps Junior & 16U Nationals in Fargo, North Dakota. I am extremely motivated and excited for this new experience and opportunity to compete!
Thank you ~ Layla Morris
