Road to Canadian Transplant Games
Donation protected
My name is Amanda Kuhn and I am a liver transplant recipient. In 2004-2005 I was diagnosed with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), autoimmune hepatitis and ulcerative colitis at the age of 12. I have spent my fair share of time in and out of hospitals and am grateful for all the medical professionals that have helped me live my life. I have never let my diseases define my life and always led a healthy lifestyle despite my conditions. However, in 2021, it was discovered that I had liver cancer. I was unable to get treatment as my liver condition was so severe from the years of cirrhosis from PSC, so a liver transplant was the only option. In February 2023 at the age of 30, I underwent a life saving liver transplant and I am forever in debt to my donor. In honour of my donor and for myself I am continuing to live without my condition defining me and in so have decided to compete in the Canadian Transplant Games in Ottawa. If you feel like supporting me in this journey, feel feel to contribute. Thank you! Stay true, Stay Strong.
