Hello Everyone,
I am making this GoFundMe page for my daughter, Mackenzie, and her husband, Thomas, in hopes to relieve some of the financial burden they have endured over the past 2 1/2 years trying to grow their family.
A message from Thomas & Mackenzie:
"Friends, family, and the Facebook community,
The time has come that we share our story and ask you to be a part of it. As most of you may already know, we have been struggling with infertility for over 2 1/2 years. Unfortunately, we have faced some unimaginable heartache along the way.
After one miscarriage and one whole year of being unsuccessful at growing our family on our own, we decided it was time to seek medical advice. After a diagnosis of PCOS, we started infertility treatments at the Mankato Clinic in October of 2023. During our time at Mankato Clinic, we did 5 medicated rounds, 3 failed IUI's, and experienced 2 additional miscarriages.
After many hard conversations, we decided that IVF was going to be our best chance at starting a family. We started our IVF journey in May of 2024 at CCRM in Minneapolis. We had a successful egg retrieval in June, which was followed by a failed embryo transfer in August and another in October.
It was after our 2nd embryo transfer that it was determined I likely have asymptomatic endometriosis that was causing implantation failure. It was at this time we decided to put our efforts of starting a family into other options.
After exploring both surrogacy and adoption, we chose to go the adoption route. We started the process of signing up with an adoption agency in MN and decided to share our story on Facebook. Our post received thousands of shares and within a week we matched with a birth mother. We were over the moon to be matched so quickly and to finally be bringing our baby home in a few months. Unfortunately, this story does not end with us bringing home our baby but with another loss that we had to process through.
That brings us to now. After a much needed break, we are ready to start finding some answers. We don't exactly know where these answers will lead us but we do know that our family is not yet complete.
We had set aside some funds when we started doctoring back in October but we had no idea what life was going to throw at us when we walked into those clinic doors.
Despite the financial challenges, our fight for our future family is not over. We are reaching out to ask for your support in helping us make the dream of becoming parents a reality. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward previous medical bills we are still paying on and future expenses we will encounter.
We are so grateful for anyone taking the time to read and share our story, whether you know us personally or through someone else.
If you know us directly, you know how difficult this journey has been in all aspects of our lives. This journey has tested us physically, mentally, and financially. But we know God has a plan for us and are going to continue to put our trust in His timing. Throughout this journey, we have found a community that has shown us so much support, love, and continued prayers. Our future baby is already loved by so many and has so many people rooting for them. We have prayed and continue to pray that someday we will have a baby to hold in our arms and not just in our hearts.
We are still so hopeful for our future family and will take all the prayers for our future little miracle. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, whether that is through financial assistance or prayer.
With love & gratitude,
The Starman's"
