Are You Able to Help Me Secure Housing, Bills, and Groceries for September?
Please consider making a gift to help us secure our next goal: $8,000.

Extended Story: I have faced medical and financial hardship over the past year and it looks like I will likely be losing my apartment on October 1 (unless my employment status changes before my roommates find a replacement). My goal is to find affordable housing (most likely not in the Bay Area, but I'm open to anything that makes sense for my health), access stable mental-health services, get medical insurance, remain on PrEP, and regain financial sustainability through eventual full-time employment.

My life destabilized last year when stress pushed me over the edge and mental health issues from the past crept back into my life. I was working three jobs (San Francisco AIDS Foundation (4 years)s, was treasurer of a local school board in the Mission District, and had several other ongoing volunteer commitments (Burning Man Community Events; Queer Burners).

I mistakenly believed that additional responsibility would force me to get organized and let go of some vices I've been struggling with, but unfortunately, the opposite happened.  Consequently, my health suffered significantly and I currently do not have consistent employment.  I initially took a medical leave of absence to focus on accessing elevated medical support but that was not successful and I eventually lost my jobs and medical insurance. For a time I felt completely lost and struggled to see a way out, but through the guidance of others (including Brene Brown), I have come to realize that the path back to success is paved in vulnerability, which at this moment manifests in the humility and the willingness to ask for and accept help from others and to follow through whenever possible. At this point, I believe I will move out of my current place on October 1 either into a more affordable place in the Bay Area, or (more likely option) move to a new more affordable region. Have any suggestions?

Are you able to help assist my emotional or physical If you are able to help in any way, I will send you a personalized thank you and I'm happy to connect for coffee or over the phone to answer any questions and hear any advice or feedback you have to offer. I've already completely emptied my retirement fund and all of my credit am struggling to figure out how to pay for a storage space to move my stuff into.

I respectfully ask with humility and without expectation, will you please help me survive this journey and get back on my feet by supporting my GoFundMe? Thank you for your consideration.
