Ro Rivas Memorial Services and Expenses
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is Erica Rivas, the daughter of "Lucky Ro"
I am reaching out to you all in hopes many of you who may have known him, of him and or just came upon his Gofund me can help us in any way support my father's memorial expenses. With such indescribable sadness in our hearts, we all had to unexpectedly say goodbye to one of the most inspirational, influential, and loving souls.
My father took his last earthly breath on Nov 2, breathed in a new life, and began a new journey with our Great Spirit. Stage 4 Colorectal cancer with liver metastasis was diagnosed 2 weeks before his passing. Cancer doesn't wait, and we, unfortunately, did not get the opportunity for him to receive his initial chemo treatment. He passed away the day before his treatment.
So full of life, laughter, and always helping a stranger or a brother out. Definatley one of the funniest people I have ever met besides his mom, our nana. A nationwide traveler, explorer and humble Native American. Once a Helitack Fire Fighter, he touched down on every mountain in California. He saved many, many lives and continued to help those around him. He met many great people in his life. Made many great driving runs utilizing his commercial driver's license and unforgettable trips across the US. Loved riding his chopper and Harley across the states as well.Enjoyed mastering his moves in golf and loved to play tennis. Volunteered at many Legions locations as the Sons Of, cooking in the kitchen and making the most delicious plates for all to enjoy. Music was a huge part of his life as well as having a music room to jam out in. Loved making creations out of soapstone, sculptures, and mastered beautiful pieces . His actions, presence and guidance have touched and changed many people's lives. My father Ro also known as Tata, loved spending time with his family, his brothers, his grandchildren and those who held a special place in his heart. If you knew my dad, you knew he made the BEST new Mexico hatch green chile tamales ever! Such a humble, and caring person who continued to be a positive role model and guide for many. Spiritually connected and in tune with nature was a gift he cherished. My dad showed us what the true meaning of what loving life meant , what it is being kind to others, and most importantly how to love God.
All the proceeds from Gofund me will go directly to his memorial expenses, including his cremation and my father's last remaining costs. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
Please keep my father and our family in your prayers.
If you have any stories about my father, I encourage you to share them and any photos. He loved sharing stories and pictures; we would love to read about them and enjoy that memory with you all.
Thank you, everyone and God Bless.
Rolando Rivas "Ro Ro" "Lucky Ro" "Mo" "Smokes" "Rolly", he was known by many, and will be forever loved and remembered by all..
