I am raising money in hopes to save my family home. It may not look like much to you but means everything to my family. It’s been with us for 49 years. Unfortunately, my parents put the house on a reverse mortgage. I am trying to buy it in order to keep it in the family. This home has been a refuge for just about everyone even strangers. This home has helped families and friends that did not have a place to eat, sleep, or even homeless. My parents took everyone in. It’s the holiday house, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and every holiday under the moon. My mom died here a year ago, in her room, in the house she loved so much. She lived 9 years after my dad passed in 2010. Keeping this home would mean having a place for my sisters to live, who are both ill. One sister is just starting her battle with Chemo and the other paralyzed from the waist down. Without this house, they will soon have nowhere to go when the time comes for them to leave their places. Any size donation will be a blessing. Starting a GoFundMe was the absolute last thing I wanted to do. Due to COVID putting everything on hold, reverse mortgage interest charges increased, lawyer fees increased, and closing costs increased.
