Lucy is a student at Outwood Academy Freeston, and has been offered the opportunity to join a four-week ethical school expedition to Borneo in summer 2027 with Camps International. The school, part of the Outwood Grange Academies Trust, is supporting the students' participation in this international expedition. The expedition aligns with Camps International's goal to give students a unique opportunity to broaden their perspective and gain valuable life skills. Camps International is a global social enterprise. Lucy will be working on a variety of different community, wildlife and environmental projects. Example projects include constructing school classrooms, supplying drinking water, terrestrial and marine wildlife conservation, tree-planting and micro finance initiatives. Each project is designed to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals, working towards tackling global challenges on a local scale. The trip costs approximately £5,200.
