Save Lilly

Hi everyone,
My name is Alana, & this is a fundraiser for my baby girl, Lilly. I adopted Lilly when she was 6 weeks old & have been lucky enough to have her by my side for the past three years. For anyone else who has a pet, I'm sure you can understand the intense bond I have with her. She's been a strong constant in my life & has unfailingly been a light for me through some rough times. I thought that we had another decade to spend with each other. Unfortunately, on June 18th, Lilly was hit by a car. Even though she was rushed to the hospital immediately, there was a lot of damage to her left hind leg & she had to have it amputated. Sadly, it didn't stop there. Both her hips were dislocated, & no matter how hard they tried to reduce her right hip (pop it back in), it won't stay. This means that she will need to have surgery on that hip to save it. As a college student, I do not have anywhere close to the amount of money that would be required to do this next surgery & to take her through physical therapy & get her the care & help she deserves. The amputation & other care has already amounted to almost $7,000. Putting her to sleep is an option, as heart-shattering as that would be, but right now it is the best financial option (but not necessarily the best overall option). If she were to have the surgery, although the road to recovery would be long, she has a huge, loving support team that would give her everything she needs to have her happily hopping around on three legs at the end of this. She will have to go into surgery tomorrow, & while I know $10,000 is a lofty goal for the short time period, literally anything would help, even if the donations happen after tomorrow. $15,000 is the amount after EVERYTHING (amputation, both attempted hip reductions, the hip surgery, anesthesia, bandage changes, hospital stay, medicine, etc.), & any amount that is given will  allow me to give the vet the OK to begin working on Lilly again. I have never done a GoFundMe before, so I am going into this blindly, but any contribution, whether it's $1 or more, would help me save my girl. She is my heart & soul, & I want to do everything in my power to give her her best chance. I know she is fighting for me, & I am going to fight for her. If there is anything left over (that's extremely optimistic, I know), I will donate it to a local animal shelter. I promise this is not a scam. Lilly is at the Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital receiving amazing care from a wonderful team. Please, take the time to toss in a dollar or share this with your friends. It would mean the world to me to have 10 more years with my best friend.
