One of our fellow vintners, Mike Brown, suffered a stroke on January 10th. Many of you know Mike, who is one of the old guard of winemakers here in the valley. In addition to the Brown’s Kalyra brand, Mike also runs a mobile bottling operation – a main source of income. Mike is now recuperating at home, but unable to run the bottling operation and is being faced with extraordinary medical bills. His physical and occupational therapy are essential to his recovery, and much of this is not covered under his health insurance plan. With strokes, timing and hard work are essential. Those who know Mike know he is one of the hardest working vintners around, but the Browns could use financial help to get the best therapists possible.
