David's Brain Injury

Hello my name is Daniel Dominelli,

I am a single father of 2 boys Daniel (13) and David (7).

In October we all came down with a cold.

After about a week, David’s left eye began puffing up. Thinking it was an eye infection his Dr prescribed antibiotics and said if it doesn’t get better to take him to the ER.

A week later it still had not gotten better and we had a follow up appointment. They suggested taking him to the ER where they did a CAT scan and found out it had spread into the skull under his eye and formed an abscess.

They rushed him to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital where they performed a Surgery to drain the Puss from his eye socket and put him on IV Antibiotics. A week Later they did a MRI and found out that there was more in the area between the left and right sides of his brain. They did another surgery to drain that abscess. He has been in the Hospital at this point for about 3 Weeks.

I had just started a new job in August. Since this has started I have not been able to work and have not drawn a paycheck. We do not have health insurance. It is likely that my employer will not hold my job for much longer.

They have estimated it will be another 6-8 Weeks before he is released from the Hospital.

I am looking for help with expenses while I care for my boys and make the trip back and forth to Phoenix (which is about 2 hours from our home in Prescott Valley). The lost of my job and the medical expenses are crushing my small family.
