RN in need of transplant surgery

Donation protected

12-16 Update: Tami continues to be beyond grateful at the response to this fundraiser and prayers being said. She was seen by her transplant surgeon and does qualify for total pancreactomy with islet cell transplant, just has to finish up pre-op testing and determine if islet cells are viable and functioning so surgery should be scheduled sometime in January. She continues to struggle with constant hospital admissions and tube feedings were not tolerated so on TPN and lipids now. Please continue to share, the constant prayers are bringing her comfort!

Update: She is beyond overwhelmed with the response and was brought to tears because of the prayers, well wishes, and many donations. Let's keep it up!

Hello, my name is Heather and I am extending an olive branch to help my dear friend Tami. I went to nursing school with her and shared my best and worst moments with this precious lady. Once we graduated, she sponsored a scholarship for future students to help ease the burden of tuition. When I say this woman is amazing, I mean it. She has been hospitalized since September 14, and her hospital journey is not close to being over. She is a level 1 trauma ED nurse and pours her heart and soul into everything she does. Tami has suffered with chronic pancreatitis for 20 years and unfortunately since I was fortunate enough to meet her, but now her pancreas is in complete failure (also involving multiple organs). She had a j-tube placed and receives her intake through it in totality. She is to undergo a pancreatectomy once her levels normalize. Her levels may not normalize, she may not get to have this surgery, and if she does, God-willing she will make it through. Palliative care has been consulted during her medical journey already, she is choosing to fight. Please help my dear friend in any way possible. She is looking at close to $40k in copays to see these doctors and this is with insurance. By donating $1, a prayer, by sharing this post. ..Anything helps. She bends over backwards for everyone she comes in contact with and for once I'd like for those who know her, and those just reading her story to do the same. Appreciate it all.

She is not the type of person who asks for help, she's always "fine" and "i'll figure it out", so let's see if we can help her the way she helps others without hesitation.

*This photo is a few years old, but shows this cheetah-print-loving human in her glory, smiling, being awkward, and someone who has always prioritized everyone in her entire world.
