Hey everyone, thank you first and foremost for taking the time to read through this. My name is Mark, and I'm a double amputee. I was initially born in India with a birth defect that caused my legs not to grow out fully. Due to this, at the age of 17, I had both legs amputated. Before this, I utilized a wheelchair to get around. For the past 13 years, I've used the same chair to get around. My chair has been like old faithful, getting through my four years of college, to both jobs that I currently have held for the past six years. I am married to my best friend and wife Laura, and we are the proud parents of a good-looking man! My wife works as a full-time stay-at-home mom. I work full-time with Liberty University as a New Enrollment Specialist, and I work part-time as a youth pastor for a local church here in Lynchburg. Like everything else, things wear out. And this wheelchair has seen its days. I have been in the process of getting a new chair since January of this year. After insurance was run, the out-of-pocket expense was something I could not afford at this time. And even after speaking with the insurance,  i was told it could still be well over $2,000. And so, I am humbly asking for your assistance in raising the remaining funds that I need to be able to purchase this new chair successfully.  Additionally, part of the wheelchair is come with a contraption called "Smart Drive" which is a small motor that can be attached to the chair to assist in going up hills. Which this save on my shoulders, elbows and wrists.  Being in a wheelchair is an essential part of my everyday life, and it is what has allowed me to get around with ease in my community and my jobs. Any amount that you can give will a huge blessing to my family and places me one step closer to being able to continue to have the freedom of getting around. I thank you in advance for all of your help!!!
