Up and Adam

On April 21, Adam started seizing behind a locked bathroom door at home. Thankfully Karri heard him begin to seize, fall, and hit his head on the sink. He was up against the door, and she couldn’t get it opened. She responded immediately by calling 911. The head injury was not the issue, however. They couldn’t get the seizures to stop for over 4 days and Adam’s MRI revealed a diffuse global anoxic brain injury (lack of oxygen to the brain), which is irreversible. After a long two months of being in a comatose state, the doctors agreed Adam may never wake up, and if he did, he would live in an vegetative state due to the diffuse damage throughout his brain. Adam passed away on June 17th with loved ones beside him.
