Help Treasure Beach Recover After Hurricane Melissa

On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa—the strongest storm to ever hit Jamaica—tore through Treasure Beach, a small fishing community in St. Elizabeth. This tight-knit coastal town was left devastated. Roads were destroyed, homes were damaged, and the community was cut off from the rest of the world.

Treasure Beach is resilient and people there are already rebuilding. But they need help to get back on their feet.

We - the Robinson family - are asking for donations to provide direct relief to the community that we hold so close in our hearts. We will distribute the funds raised here directly to people in the community later this month.

How Your Donation Will Help:

We're hoping to raise at least $10,000 to provide direct, immediate relief to families in Treasure Beach. Each person or family will receive between $50-$500, allowing us to help as many people as possible. Your contribution will help with:
  • Transportation for children to get to and from school while roads remain damaged
  • Bags of groceries for families who can't reach the distant supermarkets still operating
  • Home and car repairs to help people get back to work and normalcy
  • Monthly expenses for those who've lost income while businesses are closed
  • Clothes and shoes for students whose belongings were destroyed
  • School supplies for the kindergarten and high schools
  • Whatever else the community needs—we're listening as we go

We'll share updates with photos and descriptions of every contribution right here on GoFundMe, so you can see exactly where your money goes.

Our Commitment:

Our family will match 10% of all donations. If we hit our $10,000 goal, we'll add another $1,000—bringing the total to $11,000 for the community.

Howard Robinson will be on the ground in Treasure Beach from November 8-22, personally distributing 100% of the funds during that time. This means direct help to the people who need it most.

More about Treasure Beach and our connection:

The community is made up of several small coves and villages, including Calabash Bay, Great Bay, Frenchman's Bay, and Billy's Bay. It’s a vibrant place filled with stunning beaches, beautiful fields and lots of greenery – as it’s situated in the “breadbasket” of the country, where lots of produce is grown.

The Robinson and Blair families have lived in Treasure Beach for generations. Many family members are still there, and others visit every year. We have a deep connection to the place and land. We have farmed on the land for decades, growing mangoes and melons, and fishing in the nearby ocean.
