Rabbit Runaway Orphanage is the first dedicated NO KILL pet rabbit rescue in Victoria, Australia, run entirely by a small dedicated group of volunteers. We take in rabbits with treatable health conditions that would be killed without our intervention.
The Orphanage now supports 90 special needs rabbits like Quentin (above), who has headtilt, Gingermegs (below) who was treated for abscesses and Banjo (below), recovering from severe ear mite infestation.

The vet care for these rabbits is paid for by the Orphanage for the lifetime of the rabbit. Both Gingermegs and Banjo and now healthy, happy buns and have gone to their new homes.
Over the Christmas period the Orphanage saw an influx of pet rabbits with various health issues that needed urgent and ongoing vet care, such as broken limbs, abscesses and dental disease. The vet care has been done on these rabbits, but the funds are depleted. Many of the bunnies ended up at Animal Emergency Centres sending up out vet costs substantially. The vets are very understanding.
However, we cannot continue to take in and support these pet rabbits until the current vet bills are paid. We also have rabbits at the Orphanage waiting for non urgent vet treatment, and these rabbits cannot be rehomed until their vet work is completed.
This call out for help is very urgent as the Orphanage cannot take in any more rabbits until we catch up with these vet bills. 100% of funds raised go entirely to vet care. All donations are tax deductible so please keep your receipts for tax time.
The rabbits that are most at risk of euthanasia, have no safe place to go if the Orphanage cannot accommodate them like little Memphis (below), who had to have one eye removed, so each $1 donated moves us forward to a position where we can start to take in the most at risk pet rabbits again.

We are most grateful for your support in this venture and we invite you to meet the special needs bunnies in our care, so that you can see the bunnies that you are helping now and into the future.
Lucy Lou is stable andhas been placed in a loving home and now lives with her new husbun, Piro, who also has headtilt. Little Darwin (RIP) has since crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Their lives would have been snuffed out prematurely if the Orphanage had not intervened and sought the vet treatment that they needed.
