Stand by Chris and His Family

5 1/2 years ago Chris Halle had a liver transplant due to having developed PSC ( Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis) this is an autoimmune disease. He has been healthy since his transplant. On May 16, his wife rushed him to Catawba Valley Hospital. Once there they ran tests and contacted Duke to have him transferred. On Sunday May 17, he was airlifted to Duke where he has been in ICU. They were told today that he will need to be at the hospital for almost 4 weeks. Once he is well enough to be out of ICU they will transfer him to the liver transplant floor. They are wanting to run more tests and see what is possibly happening to his liver. Chris is on disability and his wife is a home health care provider who works for herself, they also have a daughter who also has some health care needs.
