Help My Mom Fight Ovarian Cancer Without Insurance

Hi, my name is Francisca a lot of you know me by Fran or Francis! I’m raising funds for my mom’s cancer treatment.

My mom has ovarian cancer that has spread throughout her abdomen. She is a single mom who raised two kids on her own. She was born with polio, and because of her condition, she was never able to work — yet she never let that stop her from being the most caring, welcoming, and supportive woman to everyone she met.

Doctors at UAB Hospital in Alabama plan to give her 7 rounds of chemotherapy to shrink the cancer before surgery. Surgery now would be too risky, as she might need a permanent colostomy bag for the rest of her life. Our hope is that chemo will reduce the tumors enough to avoid that outcome.

She does not have insurance, so every treatment, scan, and medication has to be paid out of pocket. The cost is overwhelming — but now it’s our turn to help her, just like she’s always helped us.
