Oakley's Story
Donation protected
The Coombe Family would like to share their news about their dear little 4 year old Son Oakley.
Oakley became very unwell suddenly in early March this year and things took a sudden turn for the worst. After some investigations it was discovered that Oakley had a brain tumour that was cancerous, called a medulloblastoma which is a high grade tumour.
Oakley had to have prompt surgery at Kings Collage Hospital to remove most of the tumour and since has had to have a further x5 other surgeries for MRI and CT scans, radiotherapy mask to be fitted and fluid to be drained.
He will now have to endure x7 weeks of radiotherapy up in The University College Hospital followed by several months of chemotherapy.
Oakley is getting stronger each day, but still only having short conversations and is wobbly when walking and gets tired quickly. He will not be returning to the nursery he was attending sadly and will potentially have to start school at a much later date then they had planned to this September.
As you can imagine this has been a life changing and very challenging time for Oakley and his family.
Last week they spent a few nights in Brighton hospital while he had an operation to place a vein port and a stomach tube. He is now home awaiting to start radiotherapy on the 23rd of April.
If you wish to help them, Oakley and his little Sister Hollie would really benefit from a double pram and we kindly ask if you would like to donate anything to help the Family fund one of these this would be hugely appreciated.
