My name is Kevin. I’m from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and in March 2025 my entire world shattered when my 3-year-old son, Sebastian, was diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroblastoma. Our family is devastated, but I’m determined to stay by his side every single day until he rings that victory bell and we can finally go home together. That’s all I pray for.

Five days after diagnosis, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital sent a plane for us. I made the heartbreaking decision to leave everything behind and relocate to Memphis, Tennessee so Sebastian could receive the very best care in the world. We were originally told we’d be here about 9 months, but setbacks and changes in his treatment plan have extended our stay — possibly for many more months. It all depends on how Sebastian’s little body responds to the remaining rounds of chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and immunotherapy.

While I’m here fighting alongside my son, the bills back home in Florida never stop. Rent, car payment, insurance, utilities — everything keeps coming, but I can’t work. The financial stress on top of the emotional stress is crushing.
