Hope for Shayla

“There is hope even when your brain tells you there isn’t” – John Green
I am starting a 'go fund me' for my niece Shayla and my sister Jen. Tragedy has struck my niece in the worst way, and she needs help, in all ways possible.
I am going to try and summarize without getting into too much detail out of respect for everyone closely involved. In just this past week Shayla’s boyfriend Fletcher tragically lost his life and Shayla lost custody of their daughter Winter Fae. Shayla is only 20 years old and is having to face tremendous loss and she is not dealing with it very well. In a matter of a few days, she lost the two most important people in her life. She needs help now more than ever, but the help she needs requires extensive therapy at this point. This means an inpatient treatment facility and this is just one of the steps she needs before she can be in her daughter’s life. Grief is destroying her.
The treatment facility costs are anywhere between 15k to 20k (this is with insurance). It sounds so cliché to say anything helps, but at this point it really does. Honestly, in today’s world, I would not have thought to ever ask for monetary donations towards treatment for mental health.
Any donation will go towards Shayla’s stay at a treatment facility so she can get the help she needs and any money left over from the donations will go into a college fund for Winter.
Winter is safe with her loving grandparents (Fletcher’s Mom and Dad). I believe she is a blessing to them right now to help with the grief over the passing of their son.
We need prayers though. I ask you all to pray. My sister is on autopilot right now trying to stay strong for Shayla, she has yet to let herself break, but she will. Please pray and if you are close, go see her, if you can’t go see her, call her. She will need as much support as you can give, she is putting her "grandma" status on hold (which is heartbreaking) to keep her daughter alive and mentally stable while still being hit with the grief of losing Fletcher, whom she loved and adored very much.
We will also take advice. If anyone knows anything that could possibly help, please reach out - Referrals, Experience, ANYTHING you can think of that could put Shalya on the right path and ease the weight on Jen’s shoulders.
