For those of you who know me, starting a fundraising campaign on Facebook is about the last thing I would ever do.  It ranks just above stabbing myself in the eye with a pencil.  Repeatedly.


Desperate times call for desperate measures. 


For as long as I've known my beautiful friend Jamie, 7 or 8 years now, she has been struggling with some sort of mystery illness.  Constantly going to different doctors and trying different therapies, conventional and alternative. 


When she was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease I was almost glad for her, she could finally get well.  Little did I know about how little most doctors know about the treatment for lyme.  Once again Jamie has been struggling with different doctors, treatments, and pain management.   The thousands of dollars this family has shelled out for drugs, therapies, tests, etc., most that aren't covered by insurance would astound you.


She and her family have finally found hope at Sierra Integrative Medical Center, where they have had much success treating this disease.  The problem for Jamie and her family is that she needs to relocate to Reno, NV for 6 weeks, renting a place to stay and hiring a caregiver to help during treatment.   Those two items alone will cost what the goal of this campaign is, $6500.  I'm not even throwing in the cost of the treatment.
