My name is Natalie. My husband is Jeremy my eldest daughter Nina and my youngest Sophia. When Sophia was eight weeks old she was diagnosed with heart failure. She got a heart transplant at four months. She was in immune suppressants due to the transplant. Due to the medications Sophia developed a type of transplant medication related cancer. She once again survived the odds with the support of our family and community. I am her main caregiver and have many many scary nights and months of stress and fear over her survival. Apparently I didn’t handle my stress very well because I have been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer at 38.
