Support Hudson's Fight Against Leukemia

It is with a heavy heart that I humbly ask you for help for my nephew Hudson and his family. At just 9 months old Hudson was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia(AML).

On July 5th, Hudson was rushed to the emergency room at Cooks Children’s Hospital for the possibility of having a large mass under his cheek bone. After receiving a CT Scan Friday night it was determined that Hudson does have cancer. It was discovered he has multiple masses in his skull, leg, spine, kidneys and lungs.

Hudson was quickly admitted to the Cooks Oncology floor. Saturday when he went under for a biopsy and MRI on his head and spine, Hudson was sick with another illness Human metapneumovirus (hMPV) and as a result he did not respond well to the anesthesia and was admitted to the ICU where he has spent 15 days going through numerous tests and receiving chemo treatments. No one was prepared for the biopsy results to reveal that Hudson has Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) The news was absolutely devastating to his parents. As of today, July 20th he has now moved back to the Oncology floor.

Hudson is now done with his first round of chemo treatments and will have a spinal tap done every week to see how the cancer cells in his spine are doing as well as putting chemo in there each time. After the 30 days we will see how many cancer cells are in his body and that will determine the game plan over the months to come. His current estimated stay at Cooks is 6 months with a possible bone marrow transplant.

Hudson’s parents have been by his side from the first minute he was brought to the hospital, and they intend to be there every step of the way. Unfortunately that will result in missing some work, and endless medical bills and expenses that are sure to be coming their way. Worrying about money should never be added to the already high stress level and trauma of having a sick child.
