In October 2014 Carla was diagnosed with Nodular Melanoma. An aggressive form of melanoma. She has undergone two major surgeries and is currently participating in a Clinical Study at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help Carla pay her medical bills and expenses moving forward as she fights this disease.
