Please help a our son get Therapeutic Treatment

Did you know over 100,000 kids in Foster Care are waiting to be adopted? About one in four youth in Foster Care will experience post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), making them twice as likely as a U.S. war veteran to experience PTSD as an adult.

This fundraiser supports a family who has adopted their teen son from Foster Care after spending far too long in the system. He is currently struggling with PTSD, depression, substance use, and other risky behavior. Now that he's finally in a stable home, he can stop living in survival mode, but with that safety comes the resurfacing of trauma in a new form. The urgency for this fundraiser is to intervene before the severity of his problems becomes more than he can bear.

We are raising money so this sweet kid can attend a 90-day treatment program for young men. We have looked at several programs but have landed on the one that would give him the best opportunity to provide him with the tools he needs to heal and become the person he wants to be. Strong, wise, intelligent and most importantly, whole. It's essential to help him heal now so that he may have the best chance as an adult to manage his prior experiences in a way that doesn't cripple his future.

This program is highly recommended for young men in his disposition but comes with the costly rate of $99,000 for the four months of treatment. The family has been working hard to apply for grants and sell their belongings, but the matter's urgency has prompted this campaign, given that they have to pay a third of the fee the day he arrives in the program. The funds raised will pay for his treatment and potentially help support the costs of the family traveling to participate in therapy alongside their son.

This young man has cared for others during a time when he should have just been able to focus on being a child. It's forced him to grow up too fast and endure things that no child should ever have to go through. Please help to give something back to him, a chance to be the wonderful man we know he can grow up to be. No donation is too small, and please feel free to share their story; the more exposure, the better for his cause.
