My name is Anas Tawfiq, and I created this fundraiser to support my relative, Hiba Ahmed, a Palestinian mother of two daughters, Sham and Eileen.
On October 21, their home in Gaza was bombed during the war. By the grace of God, Hiba and her daughters were spared — granted what can only be described as a second chance at life. However, that moment marked the beginning of a long journey of loss, displacement, and survival.
Two years ago, Hiba was forced to leave Gaza without her husband, without security, and without any stable source of income. Since then, she has been raising her daughters alone while trying to survive as a refugee under extremely difficult circumstances.
Hiba’s husband remains in Gaza, facing danger every single day. Five months ago, she also lost her mother — her last source of emotional support. Since then, the burden of responsibility has become even heavier.
Today, Hiba’s most urgent need is not rebuilding dreams, but securing the basics of life: safe housing and uninterrupted education for her daughters.
Our Goal: $5,000 CAD
This fundraiser aims to cover six months of essential living costs, giving Hiba and her daughters temporary stability while she continues searching for long-term solutions.
How the funds will be used (6 months):
Housing support (partial rent): $3,000 CAD
Education for Sham & Eileen (school fees, books, supplies): $1,200 CAD
Basic living expenses (utilities, transportation, essentials): $800 CAD
So far, less than $2,000 CAD has been raised, and every contribution truly makes a difference.
This is not about luxury or comfort.
It is about stability, dignity, and ensuring that two young girls can continue their education without fear of interruption.
