Hi, this is my daughter Jessica, and she is in the hospital fighting sepsis. No antibiotic seems to be working. One kidney has shut down, and she is losing muscle because of the sepsis. She is having breathing issues because of the kidney not functioning; the fluid is building in her lungs. She cannot stand on her own and can't lift her right arm at all. Jessica is a school bus driver and cleans houses in between to make ends meet. She has no sick time at work and definitely will not be able to do her extra side job cleaning houses for a while. The doctors anticipate her being in the hospital for a while. First and foremost, please pray for Jess to recover. Second, if you can help at all through this GoFundMe, it would be appreciated. "She is in ICU right now with sepsis at Clearlake Methodist. So far, the stone caused an infection in her kidney, resulting in sepsis, also has an external drain. They are fighting the sepsis, and in the process the half dozen IVs in her arm which has her right arm really weak and swollen. She has weakness in one leg and has a hard time standing or walking when she is allowed out of the bed. It was presenting as a stroke, so they just did a bunch more tests. Luckily it is not a stroke,she is just tired, weak, and hurting from the infection. Mom will probably be in here for at least 7-10 days if not longer. She is having some heart related issues also.

Her right kidney doesn’t work now so she has a nephrostomy coming out of right kidney to help

It drain. When she goes home it will go with her till we find a Urologist to take the stone out.

They won’t touch mom surgically until the infection is completely gone. Its possible she would die on operating table right now if they tried to remove the kidney stone. Doctor also

said its possible she would be dead as of yesterday if i hadn’t convinced her to come to emergency room monday .

Said mom was lucky to be alive. We’re in a last resort meds as of now please pray she makes it out of here

She may have to go to rehab after she gets out of the hospital to learn how to walk again and use right side of body if she doesnt regain some strength in her leg and arm. They will be doing a test tomorrow call a Transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE). They will go in through the esophpgus to better look at her heart. As long as labs and blood pressure look good enough. As many of you know, I’ve recently been through a very scary and life-threatening situation where I almost didn’t make it. Actually the hospital had my daughter Maddy telling family and friends to prepare to say their goodbyes . I went into septic shock and spent several days in the ICU, followed by more time in the hospital. I’m currently dealing with a 6mm kidney stone, 12 pounds of fluid retention in my abdomen (which makes it extremely hard to breathe or eat), limited use of my right side, and a nephrostomy tube.

Because of all this, I’m unable to work for the next couple of months (possibly longer). I have an upcoming urology appointment to figure out a treatment plan, and I’ll also be seeing a cardiologist soon because the sepsis caused some heart-related issues as well.

I’m doing my best to stay strong and focus on healing, but the financial side has become overwhelming. I have regular bills that will be piling up sooner than I would like . I normally wouldn’t ask for help , I work two jobs and I’m always on the go so this is really hard for me to ask but I’m humbly asking for any help or donations to get me through this difficult time until I’m able to return to work.
