Rome mom needs help w/ cancer care

Dear Romans:
We are raising money to assist one of our uninsured women, April*, who needs major surgery for cervical cancer. April is 32 years old. She is a single mother of four young children. She works hard in a housekeeping position.
We at W.O.R.T.H. saw April for a routine Pap smear. We were able to do her Pap smear and her follow-up biopsies without charge to her when her Pap was abnormal. Unfortunately, her biopsy here showed a high-grade abnormality. We were able to get her into Northside hospital program for her initial surgery under their indigent program--and we drove her to her appointments in Atlanta twice because she has no transportation. We thought a minor surgery was all she needed but her pathology showed an invasive cancer.
Northside will do her follow-up surgical care but they don't want to schedule her surgery until she can make arrangements to be in the Atlanta area for 4 weeks after the surgery so she can have close follow-up with the oncologist. She needs help to pay for rent, food and child care for one month and then she will be able to go back to work.
