Emily's Breast Cancer Battle
Donation protected
Last November, my 33 year old daughter Emily discovered two lumps and received the life altering news that she had Stage 3 Breast Cancer. This news shattered her every day life and put her whole world on pause.
Aggressive chemotherapy treatment followed, which meant unfortunately Emily lost her hair, was unable to continue in her new job and, due to the harsh side effects and regime, that her young family saw very little of her whilst she was very poorly. This was especially tough on her four year old son, Rory.

Emily also discovered she had the BRCA1 gene, which puts her at a high risk of recurrence for breast cancer (85%) and at risk of ovarian cancer (40%).
She is doing everything she can to beat breast cancer, having recently finished five months of grueling chemo as the first step towards winning this battle!

Next up for Emily will be multiple risk reducing surgeries, the first of which is a double mastectomy on 30th April. This will be followed by radiotherapy, hormone therapy and immunotherapy as well as an operation to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes at a later date. There is still a long journey ahead for both her treatment and recovery.
This young family have been through such physical, emotional and financial hardship, that we hope to donate a portion of this fund to help them re-build their lives. We want them to be able to make many magical memories and have fun experiences together - making up for lost time!
The remainder of the funds raised will be donated to the charity BRCA Chat - supporting those in the UK affected by BRCA gene alterations and others like it. This charity has been crucial to Emily and her personal recovery, and in helping her feel less alone.
We are hoping to do a physical 'fun day' as well as some fundraising activities to help us reach this goal. Stay tuned for updates on where/when/what these might be!
Thank you for your donations along with all your love, support and positive thoughts - it means the world to us ❤️
