Our father, Jose Salvador Gonzalez, unexpectedly passed away in the early morning of July 14, 2025. After two years of battling colon cancer, chemo, strokes, and managing his multiple medical struggles, our dad had finally gained enough strength to have one last surgery. This surgery was meant to reverse his ileostomy and make his life a bit more comfortable. His surgery occurred on Tuesday, July 8th. By Thursday morning, he began to have multiple worrying symptoms. On Sunday, due to complications from the surgery, his health quickly declined, leading to his unfortunate passing shortly after.

We are deeply grateful to those who accompanied our family on that exhausting day/night and those who continue to show their support and love. Our father leaves behind a wife, two sons, two daughters-in-law, and countless friends. Our dad was a friend to everyone, and he cared about the well-being of others, showing his love by acts of kindness. He spoke highly of his travels, life experiences, and always had advice or words of encouragement. He had a great sense of humor, he was extremely proud of his sons, and he loved the simple things in life.

Now, we know many have reached out to ask if we need anything, and we would like to share this with anyone who may want to provide support during this extremely difficult time. Anything raised will be used to help cover any costs. We are grateful to those close and far for your support.

Funeral services will be held in Lone Pine, CA, on July 26th, 2025. If attending, the family is requesting that everyone wear navy blue.
