To know Austin is to LOVE him!!!!! He is a great friend to everyone he meets through his personality and of course his music. He is one giving and blessed individiual!! Now its our turn to return the giving and blessing. We need your help/donations to make certian that Austin gets the best medical care possible, without worry over how he will be able to afford it, as well as helping during his healing process, since he will not be able to work during this time! I mean let's face it, a man's gotta eat lol:)
For those who don't know the whole story.....
In late February, Austin Jennings found a small lump in his left testicle. By the time he was able to visit a urologist (no insurance) on April 3, the lump had already tripled in size!!!! Out of extreme concern, urologist Dr. Christopher Allam, immedietly sent Austin in for an emergency ultrasound.
The following day Austin received the dreaded call back...the ultrasound showed a significant tumor inside the testicle and Dr Allam wanted to go ahead and schedule surgery!!!
For most , scheduling any sort of medical procedure is no big deal....however Austin is uninsured which poses several questions and concerns. He set up visit with the hospital's financial advisor first thing, in hopes of being able to qulaify for Medicaid, only to be told that he doesn't qualify in the state of Florida. Austins physician even went as far as to contact the hospital's CEO looking for options to help!
Together they were able to find that the hospital DOES offer programs for the uninsured, but this still leaves Austin with some significant bills! The program doesn't cover the actual surgeon and testing portions of the bill in any way. Plus we cant forget the fact that we all have normal everyday bills that must be paid whether we work or not!!!! Recovery will cause Austin to miss several weeks of work and this puts a strain on him financially with day to day bills and the addition of the large hospital bills!!
Austin scheduled and had a successful Inquinal Orchiectomy to remove the affected testicle on April 8, 2015! (Pathology results won't be back until later this month)... a CT scan of Austin's pelvis and abdomen were performed as well as a chest X-ray to ensure that, in this case , that this is testicular cancer and it hasnt spread!!! The following day he finally received the news that those tests were normal and no abnormalities were found, which means all is confined! This is GREAT news...so now we just wait for path report!!!!!!!!!!
Please donate to help our favorite friend, favorite singer, favorite car washing guru, favorite blue eyed all around great guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And tag your support on social media #feelingnuts to show Austin you're thinking of him during this time!!!!! xoxo and thanks in advance:)
