Hi, my name is Alex and I am hoping to raise some much needed funds to help my mum, Jane, look after some rescued cats that recently came into her care.

She’s got a kind heart and with cats of her own and a limited income she still didn’t say no to helping. With rescues overwhelmed she’s trying not to overburden them with even more cats to care for and rehome.

Twelve cats in total have been rescued of varying ages from a really bad living situation, where one kitten had recently been killed outside the house, subsequently other kittens were out playing on the road too. My mum went down to the road at 11.30pm with a cat box to bring as many as she could (8) to safety. Yesterday the last 4 cats were handed over by the owner, and it’s looking very likely that one of them is pregnant again!

So far over the last 11 days the other cats and kittens have come on in leaps and bounds and my mum has footed the bill for food and litter and some toys with a little help from some kind friends and family. Our next step is the immediate neutering of the older females and a check up for potentially pregnant mum. It’s looking like a vet bill today of around £200.

We have successfully homed 5 cats, one adult four kittens, and they are off to their new homes tomorrow and Monday.

My mum has a big heart and does as much as she can to help people and animals to her own detriment at times.
