Buddy's Recovery

Buddy was hit by a women this past saturday evening while sitting at the end of his driveway. The impact was horrific for Buddy. What this women did to Buddy next should get her charged with animal cruelty.

The women hit Buddy at full speed

After hitting him the women got out of her vehicle and used her cell phone to record a video of Buddy, walked to my front steps turned around got in her vehicle and left. later she posted the horrific video of Buddy in our local lost pets group claiming to have not been the person who hit him. Someone recognized Buddy in the video and contacted me. I search the area but wasnt able to find Buddy.

I finally found him in the garage. His poor little body was twisted and mangled. He was shaking uncontrollably. It was horrifying. I carried Buddy inside and held him on the couch expecting him to die at any moment. I still can't believe he survived.

Once Buddy was stable I had time to review the security cameras. Seeing and hearing what Buddy endured was horrifying. After the women drove away Buddy used his front legs and dragged himself to the garage.

Buddy has a long road ahead of him. Thankfully medication has helped ease the pain. He doesn't have use of his back legs due to his spinal damage. It's been 6 days since he was hit but feels like so much longer and so much shorter at the same time.
