Help Bella Heal: Support Her Surgery
Donation protected
Hi! Thanks for clicking to learn more about my 9mo old puppy's condition. If you know me and Bella (my 3lb baby), you know she fractured her ulna + radius back in April when she jumped from my hands and landed incorrectly. This little spill has led to 3+ months in a splint and limited activity for my poor growing girl. We recently got news from the vet that the time she has spent in the cast has not been efficient in healing her break, and she will require plating surgery that will cost $6-9k. The only alternative to this surgery would be to amputate her arm-a choice that would be detrimental to her this early in life. Because of this costly development, I'm turning to my friends and community to ask for help in fundraising for her care.
A little more about our situation:
When I brought Bella home she was only 3 months old- having just gone through a change in household myself, I was (am) so excited to share my life with the tiniest and sweetest chichi I have ever encountered. That aside, I was also completely overwhelmed by the responsibility of caring for a tiny puppy all on my own and immediately got pet insurance (highly recommend Lemonade pet insurance to any and all dog owners!!!!!!). The pet insurance has been a great help in covering the cost of this injury- multiple x-rays, cast changes every two weeks, meds for sedation + pain- but the surgery is only partially covered. When Bella's accident happened, I had to go down in hours at my job and eventually take a leap of faith to rely solely on my small business to sustain us...Unfortunately even with the help of pet insurance this expense is not something I can afford on on my own.
I have been quoted $6-9k for this procedure and the insurance will cover 80% of that, leaving me on the line for ~$2,000. It feels a bit silly to fundraise for dog surgery in a time when so many people are in need of help, but I know I am eager to help my cherished ones when they are in need, so I am making the uncomfortable choice to ask for help.
Thanks for reading and considering a donation in support- truly any amount is more than appreciated!!!!
