rōJō Juice Elevation

My name is Rhonda Faison. I am the founder and creative lead of rōJō.

I am asking for your support to build my business, rōJō, a product that contributes to health and wellbeing through cold pressed juices and other organic products. My passion for health and wellness comes from a very personal place. For over 10 years I was employed in healthcare as an ER technician. In the midst of my journey within the hospital setting, my elder brother Henry suffered a traumatic Spinal Cord injury. Making fresh organic juices was a pillar of my care for him and I quickly noticed how the natural medicine of plants and produce improved the quality of his life before his untimely passing in 2015. At the time I wasn’t quite sure how, but I knew that I wanted to integrate the power and positivity of what I had learned from my professional path and the long hours with Henry into my own wellness and health-oriented business.

Like many during 2020 I found myself needing to pivot and I threw myself headlong into this venture. rōJō is a dream that has quickly become a reality in the midst of (and despite) personal and circumstantial setbacks related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

I personally develop all of our products through trial and error. I continue to seek out and select all the organic, local produce that goes into our juices. Each of our ingredients are ground and pressed separately to ensure freshness, quality and purity.

I am proud to see how far we have come in the last calendar year, from having a booth at the Queen Anne Farmer’s Market, to doing varied pop-ups, to having a stall in Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. At present we have grown to a  small, dedicated, inter-generational, cross-racial team.

This summer has blown by and it has been so exciting to become part of this community meeting so many new people and introducing them to rōJō! This fall and winter finds us at a crossroads…

rōJō is looking to grow further. Because rōJō is still relatively young, we are not eligible for many of the grants and relief funds that are offered to small businesses. With that in mind we are asking for support from our community to raise the funds to keep rōJō going strong and growing in new and exciting ways.

For the past six months we have been operating with a pair of personal juicing machines, and would like to upgrade to  large industrial juicers to keep up with demand. We want to expand the flavor offerings in the rōJō rotation. We are also looking to rent an industrial kitchen space for the offsite preparation of juices, which will open up our space at the Market for other products. Our strategic plan also includes the addition of a vehicle to transport our products to the market and will enable us to start making regular deliveries.

Our capital campaigns goal is $100,000 USD
