On April 11th, 2023, RJ collapsed in his home after experiencing breathing issues. He was rushed to the emergency room by ambulance and it was discovered that he had an obstruction in the form of a thyroid tumor blocking his airway. He was then lifeflighted to Henry Ford Detroit where doctors there saved his life by performing a tracheotomy surgery.

RJ has a very rare asymptomatic cancer called Medullary Thyroid Cancer and the tumor blocking his airway is not able to be removed by surgery at this time. He is having to seek care outside of the typical standard of care and not all of this is covered by insurance. RJ is seeking medical treatment at a specialized center in Scottsdale Arizona and your donation will help fund his lifesaving treatments.
