RIZQ FOOD BANK

Rizq food bank was established to ensure no one in the Sheffield community has to go hungry or be left destitute. Illness, disability, family breakdown, or job loss could happen to any one of us. Rizq food bank is there to ensure sufficient support is in place during your most vulnerable time.

We are an independent non-profit organisation covering all of Sheffield, so we do rely on the community’s support to ensure we can continue to stop people going hungry. We aim to help everyone regardless of their religious beliefs or background and your gift of financial support will make a huge difference. 

From a food parcel to a warm meal, essential supplies to a listening ear. No one will be turned away. Help will be provided for all in need.

The name explained:

 

Rizq means provision. In Islam, the concept of Rizq is so beautiful. Even when you eat a piece of fruit, it was always written for you. From the moment it grew from a tree, it went through all these people and travelled until it was in your hands. It was always meant to be yours.

 

Allah describes Himself in the Quran as Ar Razzaq (The Provider), and it mentions in the Quran:

 

"And He (Allah) will provide for them from an unexpected source. Allah will be enough for those who put their trust in Him. (Quran 65:3)

 

Prophet Muhammad PBUH says:

“If you were to rely upon Allah with the reliance due to Him, He would provide for you just as He provides for the birds. They go out in the morning with empty stomachs and return full.” (Sahih Al-Tirmidhi)

 

Prophet Muhammad PBUH says:

"The best of you are those who feed others"

"He is not a believer whose stomach is filled whilst his neighbour is hungry" (Sahih Al Albani)
