Hello, wonderful humans! Wanaki here, waving at you through the internet with a hopeful heart and a humble request.
So, here’s the scoop: My amazing mom, Riviere, recently had a heart attack (yikes!) and is gearing up for a big move. Her “forever home” turned out to have a bit of a plot twist—forever is apparently shorter than we thought! Now, as anyone from the Nelson area knows, finding a new nest is basically like hunting for a unicorn. But—miracle of miracles—she’s landed a sweet little spot near a river, surrounded by laughter and kiddos, with rent that won’t make you faint.
The catch? It’s a tiny house. Like, really tiny. Like, “Where do I put my socks?” tiny. No bathroom, no storage, and a whole lot of elbow grease needed.
Now, I’d love nothing more than to swoop in and help, but I’m currently in school, tangled up in wires and textbooks, working on my electrical ticket for the next six months. So my toolbox is, for now, mostly theoretical.
Here’s where you come in! In the past month, my mom has been a total superhero, transforming her new place into something livable. But she’s paid dearly for it—her health took a scary hit, and now she’s got to take it easy. Family and friends have been absolute stars, but there’s still a mountain (or at least a pretty big hill) left to climb.
That’s why I’ve started this GoFundMe! We need a little magic to:
• Build her an outhouse (because everyone deserves a throne!)
• Buy supplies for a generous friend who’s ready to whip up some much-needed storage space
• Hire a helping hand to get her moved in and settled
Riviere is a beacon of kindness—always the first to lend a hand, a hug, or a wise word. She’s spent her life lifting others up, and now it’s our turn to return the favor. Even $5 or $10 would mean the world and help her get back on her feet (and maybe finally put her socks away).
Let’s show her some love and help her turn this tiny house into a cozy, safe haven. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
