Hello!

Thank you to everyone who pitched in to help me apply for a phd program- I got in! I have accepted my offer from the American Studies program at UT Austin and I’m excited to attend in the Fall of this year. Now I’m calling on y’all once more for funds to help me move across the country. I am hoping to raise around $4-5k to help cover the cost to arrange movers, fix my car and pay for gas/lodging as I drive down to texas at the end of summer. This is a low estimate for the total amount it will cost. I am very broke right now with no support from parents and no other sources of external income beyond my service job to fall back on :( If you know me you know I work very hard to support myself and live frugally! Given the extraodinary price of living in New York during this time, I cannot imagine any other alternatives than reaching out for community aid.

I appreciate any support you can offer. Your contribution will not just facilitate the physical labor involved in moving, but also settle the emotional and mental stressors of a significant life change. As ever, I am very thankful for my community!
