Hi, my name is River Backwell. I am a 6-year-old boy from Calgary, Canada. After learning about the war in Ukraine, I decided I wanted to do something to help. Seeing kids running from their homes and having to sleep in a train station made me sad. They deserve a warm, safe home like I have. So I have collected bottles and cans to raise money for the Canadian Red Cross Ukraine Appeal. So far, I have raised over $800 from bottles and cans (donated directly through Skip the Depot ) plus $3485.00 in cash donations.
My grandparents are going to match whatever I raise. My goal is to raise $10,000 total to help the kids and people in Ukraine to have food, and somewhere safe to live. This campaign is my final push to raise $6000.00 to reach my goal.
I believe if we all do a little, we make a big difference. We can help them find safety and be happy again.
