RiverPointe Quilters support Doctors in Ukraine
Tax deductible
When Russia invaded Ukraine, the stories of horror and displacement among the people of Ukraine resonated with a group of women at RiverPointe Senior Living in Littleton, Colorado. They were alive to remember the wartime atrocities of a cruel autocrat in Europe in the 1940’s, and they knew they had to do something to help. Ranging in age from their early 70’s to late 90’s, this group of women, now known as the RiverPointe Quilters, set to work creating what was to be one, and grew to be six, Ukraine-themed quilts. Their purpose was to raise awareness, spirits and money. Denver Channel 7 News did a story in the project's early days that you can view here.
Working tirelessly since the RiverPointe Quilters have now completed their project. They have selected Doctors Without Borders - whose inspiring efforts are addressing the immediate, imperative needs of so many Ukrainians – to receive donations inspired by the quilt they've designated as the Doctors Without Borders Quilt. With its array of patterns and lack of borders, this quilt symbolizes the vast diversity of medical professionals coming from around the world to care for the many Ukrainians who so desperately need their help. Putting their own lives on the line, Doctors Without Borders provides care to people affected by conflict no matter who or where they are. The Doctors Without Borders Quilt was created to honor these exceptional efforts.

The RiverPointe Quilters ask that you donate to support Doctors Without Borders by donating to this fundraiser. All of your donations will go to Doctors Without Border's continued provision of medical services in and around Ukraine.
In addition to raising as much money as possible for Doctors Without Borders, the RiverPointe Quilters' wish is to see this quilt displayed at a local veteran's hospital. When you make your donation, please share the name and story of a veterans' hospital where you believe this quilt would make a difference. Based on your recommendations, we'll select one of those hospitals to receive the Doctors Without Borders Quilt.
Thanks in advance for contributing to this cause that means so much to the RiverPointe Quilters. And to the whole RiverPointe Senior Living community - all of whom supported the work of the quilters in so many important ways.
