Since I was five I have found pure happiness when I venture onto the water, moving by the power of the wind in my sails.  The introduction of racing into my life brought lofty goals and dreams of competing at the highest level of sailing.  Most Olympian/world champion laser sailors have been in the boat racing and training since they were eight. Moving around throughout my childhood made it difficult to be able to have the opportunity to train and race at a highly competitive level. Now in college in New England racing against some of the best sailors in the country has been an amazing experience and I know my dreams are within my grasp. It is, however, hard to train year around and campaign without a race-ready, dry (does not leak) laser. My dream is to sail in the summer Olympics, the chances are slim, yes, but with my passion and my work ethic I believe I could overcome the odds. In order to begin to pursue this dream I need a competitive boat that I can race year round and campaign throughout the country. I am asking for any sort of help that people are willing to give. Funds will be going to a race-ready laser and equipment necessary for a campaign. My gratitude towards your generosity is too great to express in words.
