River James Medical Help

Hi, my name is Tanya Offerdahl and I am Lynsey's cousin. Lynsey gave birth to River on Nov 29th. Since a few hours after birth River has struggled breathing on his own. He has had to have oxygen support since he was just an hour old. He spent a week in NICU while they worked on his breathing issues and he finally went home without oxygen. A few days later he was struggling to breath again and Lynsey took him to the ER, they were concerned about him and sent him on a Life Flight to Children's Hospital. He stayed there for a few days undergoing lots of diagnostic testing that all came back normal. They determined reflux was his main issue and sent him home oxygen. Lynsey's dad picked them up and they made the 5 hour drive home in a major snow storm. Just 2 days later River struggled while on oxygen. The storm had arrived and it took a lot of first responders to get a plow in front of the ambulance to get to River. Once in the ambulance he went limp and stopped breathing (while on oxygen) they had to manually help him breathe all the way to the hospital. He was once again put on a life flight to Children's Hospital. They have been there for a week as of now with no end date.

They will be spending their first Christmas at the hospital. There are lots of tests being done and they are trying to figure out why he stops breathing with oxygen support. Lynsey is an amazing (single) mom and to be put in this incredibly difficult situation right after birth is unimaginable. She is his best advocate and only 

leaves his side for a cup of coffee once a day.

Many friends and family have supported her financially, emotionally and sent her things she needs (clothes -she ran out of the house without hardly anything).

I am starting a go fund me to help ease her financial troubles with his medical bills and her expenses. She is not sure when she can go back to work because she doesn't know what support River will need.

Any help at all for River or Lynsey is very appreciated. Prayers for Lynsey to continue to have strength as the different tests are being done. Prayers for River to start breathing on his own and prayers for the doctors to find an answer.
