Shriners Children’s Northern California is a children’s hospital in Sacramento, CA that provides high quality care to its patients free of charge. For patients that have prolonged stays at the hospital, Shriners has an onsite classroom with a dedicated teacher to ensure that patients don’t fall behind. The lessons are designed with their respective schools to match what each patient would be learning while they are away, and the classroom aims to provide the patients with the resources and atmosphere that can be found in a real classroom.
At Recognizing Illness Very Early and Responding (R.I.V.E.R.) UC Davis, we are a health care advocacy group that aims to improve the lives of children by educating them about preventative care and chronic illness in the greater Sacramento and Davis areas. Therefore, once we heard about the hard work and endless commitment that Shriners has on its patients via its school room, we wanted to support this local hospital in any way that we can. Although we are not partnered or affiliated with Shriners Children’s Northern California in any capacity, we hope to leave a positive impact on the children that they serve. Therefore, all proceeds generated from this fundraiser will be transferred to the hospital so that their school room can continue to provide the resources and education these patients deserve. We really hope you consider donating to this wonderful cause!
