More information about The PSP Association: PSPA is a small charity dedicated to helping people living with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Cortico Basal Degeneration (CBD). PSP and CBD are both rare brain diseases, for which there is no treatment or cure. With your help we can continue to fund vital research into the causes, treatment and eventual cure.

After my beautiful pops passing away after an 8 year battle with a rare disease called CORTICOBASAL GANGLIONIC DEGENERATION otherwise known as CBD. I decided I wanted to help raise money for research and awareness.

It took a few years to finally get him diagnosed, after repeatedly arguing with neurologists and various doctors , they agreed to give him further scans, and it was just by chance a locum doctor was there and had seen it before. He was then diagnosed. It is a disease that strips you of everything, your balance, your smile, your ability to speak, swallow, move, walk... these are just a few of the devastating effects CBD has. The nurses and doctors we spoke to had never heard of it.And my dad fought SO hard.

So, I thought.. I need to do something, something that is going to seriously challenge me... and after much thought and deliberation. I decided I’m going to do

NO BEER FOR A YEAR.
Yep, you heard right. Not even on my birthday, not even on St Patrick’s day. ( because I know he’ll be watching if I was tempted to have a sneaky one and I’d be cheating him and myself )
If I can help people fighting this disease and their families from what my dad and us had to endure then I’m going to do so! To keep me occupied, I’ll be looking for lots do, new hobbies, and definitely the 3 peaks challenge. Which I’ll be doing in June!!

So as of JANUARY 1st, my challenge will start and every penny will go to the PSPA association , who helped me, and prepared me with what to expect.

I have set a target at 2,000, however it would be great if I can do more than this. Thanks in advance.
