Rita Thorson's Final Services
Donation protected

Dear Family and Friends,
I am writing to request help in funding the final services for Rita Thorson, the devoted wife of Rueben, my loving mother, and committed and adventurous Pathfinder leader, Vacations Bible School volunteer, and member of the Bolingbrook Church of Seventh-day Adventists.
Rita was a friend to all, someone who would listen cheerfully, share fun stories about her days camping with her Pathfinders and growing up with her sister, and give the warmest hugs. She had a brilliant, witty mind and could recall the names of every person she's met as well as the names of their cousins and pets. When you talked to her, you felt special. She dedicated countless hours to Bolingbrook Church as a Pathfinder leader, teaching her young Pathfinders how to set up tents, cook over a campfire, and most importantly, how to win the Bible Bowl. She loved her Pathfinder family and made it a priority that every young person in her program knew that they were well-loved by their Father in Heaven and by her. In her last days, continuing to deepen her relationship with God, she made a habit of reading a chapter of the Bible every day, even if her eyes weren't strong enough to see the words. Despite this, she was a strong woman with unwavering faith with an unfailing sense of humor who could find a reason to laugh no matter the situation. It was impossible not to laugh and smile while you were talking with her.
Early Saturday morning, February 20, 2021, God called Rita's soul back into His arms. We look forward to seeing Rita again when Jesus returns for us all, and we can listen to her jokes and stories again.
Until then, we ask that you help us celebrate Rita's life and legacy of faith and service by donating what you can to cover the expenses of her funeral service.
Thank you and God bless you,
Rueben and Peter Thorson
