Help Lay Rita Leverson to Rest with Dignity

Hi, my name is Tiesha, and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my dear friend, Rita Spencer (Lil Rita)

In October 2024, Rita’s beloved mother was placed on hospice and given just six months to live due to pancreatic cancer. By God’s grace, she was with us for 12 months, but on August 11, 2025, at 8:20 AM, she peacefully transitioned.

Throughout her mother’s battle, Rita worked hard to make sure insurance policies were in place, believing everything was secure. Unfortunately, due to a heartbreaking technicality in the law — if insurance is obtained after a diagnosis, coverage is not valid unless the insured lives at least two years — the policies cannot be used.

This has left Rita facing the devastating reality of having no coverage to give her mother the respectful burial she deserves.

Anyone who knows Rita knows how deeply she loves her family. Losing her mother is already an unimaginable pain, but now she’s faced with the fear of not being able to lay her to rest properly.

We are asking, from the bottom of our hearts, for any support you can give to help cover funeral expenses. No amount is too small — every bit helps us get closer to giving Rita’s mom the dignity she earned in life and in passing.
